Description of Qualifications:

Resident of Corpus Christi

Term of office: 2 years

Term limit: Yes

Salary: $6,000

Rachel Ann Caballero:

BACKGROUND: Describe your strongest competency and life experience that qualify you to hold this office.

I have been around politics my whole life. I have always maintained a level of interest with regards to politics and government & at one time, I campaigned for candidates. However, I believe my competency stems from a life of constant eagerness to learn, trying to be a better human being to others, & be as knowledgeable as possible in the things that I am passionate about. I work hard. I believe that the average tax payers deserve a voice on our city council that they do not currently have.

Rachel Ann Caballero:

ISSUES: During your campaign, what is the number one concern expressed to you by the residents of Corpus Christi? What is your response to this concern?

I believe the number one concern I have heard is personal freedoms being taken. People feel as if their right to chose what is best for themselves and their families are being decided for them. The other that will directly impact Corpus Christi is economic development. I believe that the local government needs to be more receptive to allowing LOCAL residents to become business owners and other smaller organizations.

Rachel Ann Caballero:

PRIORITIES: Other than the issues previously addressed, what are your top three priorities, and, if elected, how would you address them?

My top three priorities are infrastructure, constituent equality (no more special interest majority), and fair economic development for ALL.

Happy Fri-Yay!!!!

I got an endorsement!!! This endorsement is particularly special to me. A lot of people don't know this but when I was about 10 years old, I was burned from stored bacon grease on the stove top burner. I received 3rd degree burns on my thigh and the back of my calf. Now, as a 10 year old, too young to realize things could have been much, much worse, I was really worried about the scarring.

This really nice (and thoughtful) firefighter told me not to worry. He said I was young and strong enough and I would probably grow out of the scar. That immediately comforted me and probably helped with my healing process. You can barely see my scar now.

Since then, I've been involved with a few charities involving firefighters, the children's burn center in CO and CC Firefighters CARE.

I'm extremely humbled and proud to announce that I have been endorsed by the Corpus Christi Professional Firefighters Association!!

I would like to thank the COPE committee for believing in me and for their support!!

We get to decide the direction of our city and county come election time. Vote for community representation.

That's amazing!

If you want to know where the loyalty of the current sitting city council of Corpus Christi is....

1) They are going to "roll-out" a 365 day a year (every day of the year) water conservation plan on CITIZENS who are the MINORITY users next month-October. NOTHING for industry. NOTHING. But they want for us to conserve water 365 days a year.

2) A community member requested an additional 60 days to deal with the demolition and/or repair of his elderly parents home and was met with rudeness and several reminders that his parents had been notified several times.
TODAY, council approved a 2 year extension for a developer on submitting their milestone development update because of the current economic climate and supply chain issues.

So let me get this straight...... they gave hell to one of our community members about demolishing his childhood home but their developer buddy gets a TWO YEAR EXTENSION because of the state of the economy and that developer was met with NO RESISTANCE and wasn't even present.

AND there are STILL NO RESTRICTIONS ON INDUSTRY REGARDING THEIR USAGE & CONSERVATION PLAN????

THESE PEOPLE HAVE FORGOTTEN WHO THEY WORK FOR. WE HAVE TO CHANGE THAT.

Vote for community representation, vote smarter.

Those are certainly things that do not need to happen with the City Council. However, I think everyone knows that the current City Council has not been serving the citizens interests. Instead of pointing out what they're doing wrong why not point out what you will do, what you stand for, and what you're vision of Corpus Christi is over the next 10 years and how the average citizen would benefit.

Meet! Greet! Oktoberfest prep!!! See you tomorrow, Wednesday 9/21 at 5:30!!

Don't forget your stein!

Then blames it on appraisals. Tells us they are sorry but they have no control over it…
