Top question asked: Are you a Republican or Democrat?
This is a nonpartisan race. The honest answer is, I have been both at one time. Democrat when I was young because that’s what I was taught. Then Republican when I started doing well in my career and after I researched the difference between the two.
Now, I consider myself to be more of a conservative independent. I believe in a manageable government. And I believe that the government should represent the voice of the community and people should have the freedom to choose what is best for themselves and their family.
Why are you running?
The current political environment has been extremely confusing for a lot of people lately. We have elected officials that represent one particular party but vote in favor of the other.
We also have candidates that switch parties to get elected and then vote their original party.
This is why research is so important.
We have a very successful and profitable city government that runs at a surplus. But we aren’t seeing any decline in our tax rates, our property taxes, in city fees, or in fines and ordinances. Nor are we seeing this with regards to our streets, drainage or infrastructure. Why not?
It’s time for government accountability. It’s time to ask the tough questions.
